Official correspondence and minutes of meetings documenting the activities of local government bodies which participated in the counterrevolutionary uprising in Toulon in the fall of 1793. Included are minutes of meetings of the Comité de Surveillance Générale de Toulon, and of the Comité de Surveillance at the nearby fort La Malque, as well as correspondence by the Comité Genéral des Sections de Toulon en Permanence, involving decisions on the arrest or release of individuals, warnings of raids, rumors, instructions for maintaining public order and dealing with spies, identification of émigrés, and declarations of opposition to the Revolution and alliance with England. Also included is correspondence by the Comité Général des Sections de Toulon with local government and military officials and with the British Navy on military matters, such as supplies, equipage, soldiers' pay, and movements of troops and ships. Correspondence includes some discussion of the activities of the Allies fighting against revolutionary France.
